What is Matyn's Law?
Martyn’s Law is named in memory of Martyn Hett, one of the victims of the Manchester Arena attack in 2017. The law proposes a new statutory duty for event venues and public spaces to consider terrorist threats and implement proportionate protective measures.
This means venues must:
Conduct risk assessments
Have clear and actionable emergency procedures
Ensure staff are trained and equipped to respond to threats
