Full Product Description
The VIVOTEK 8MP Outdoor AI Turret Camera features a 1/1.8-inch Progressive CMOS image sensor and supports HD video at 3840 × 2160 resolution. This 8MP imaging capability helps capture detailed footage for live monitoring and incident investigation.
Its motorised vari-focal lens has a focal length of 4.3–9.8mm, allowing remote adjustment of the viewing angle and focus to suit the monitored scene. The horizontal field of view ranges from 110.4° to 45.1°, providing flexibility for different installation requirements.
With WDR Pro technology, the camera is designed to manage scenes containing both bright and dark areas, supporting surveillance in environments where lighting conditions vary.
Intelligent Night-Time Surveillance with Dual-Light Technology
Effective security needs more than a clear daytime image. The 8MP Outdoor AI Turret Camera combines infrared illumination with warm white light to support monitoring in low-light conditions.
Infrared Illumination up to 40 Metres
Built-in infrared illuminators provide an effective range of up to 40 metres, supporting discreet nighttime surveillance. When infrared illumination is used, the camera can continue monitoring without relying on visible white light.
Warm-Light Illumination up to 30 Metres
The camera’s warm-light illumination has an effective range of up to 30 metres and can support full-colour nighttime footage when sufficient visible light is provided.
This can help security personnel review details such as clothing and vehicle appearance in recorded footage, subject to scene conditions and camera positioning.
AI Detection Event Mode
In AI Detection Event Mode, the camera remains in discreet monitoring mode at night until a relevant event is detected. It then activates bright warm light to help deter unwanted activity and capture colour footage of the event.
This approach combines event-driven illumination with proactive deterrence, helping provide additional visibility when activity requires attention.
RealSight Engine for Clearer Night-Time Footage
The VIVOTEK RealSight Engine is designed to help capture clear images of people and vehicles, including when subjects are moving or lighting conditions are challenging.
When warm light is activated at night, RealSight Engine processing helps manage exposure to reduce overexposure and preserve useful image detail. This supports more effective review of nighttime events.
The resulting colour footage can also help with investigations where visual attributes are relevant to identifying or distinguishing people and vehicles.
AI Detection for More Targeted Monitoring
The camera supports AI-based event detection to help security teams focus on activity that matters. Available analytics listed for the camera include:
- Intrusion detection
- Line crossing detection
- Loitering detection
- Unattended object detection
- Missing object detection
- Audio detection
- Tampering detection
These capabilities can help identify events within defined areas and reduce the need for operators to continuously monitor live video.
Additional analytics and investigation tools may be available through compatible VORTEX licences. Features vary by licence and configuration, so confirm the required functionality before deployment.
Automatic Alarm Deterrence and Two-Way Audio
The camera includes a built-in microphone and speaker, supporting audio monitoring and compatible audio-response functions.
With supported configurations, the camera can automatically trigger an audible alarm when abnormal behaviour is detected. The speaker can also support communication or broadcast messages through a compatible video management platform.
Important: The speaker talk-down feature requires the relevant licence. Automatic alarm and advanced deterrence capabilities depend on the platform, licence and system configuration.
VORTEX Deep Search for Faster Investigations
Finding a specific incident in hours of recorded footage can take valuable time. With compatible VORTEX capabilities, the camera can support video investigation workflows designed to help users locate relevant events more efficiently.
Deep Search
Deep Search supports searches based on available visual attributes and event criteria. When colour footage is captured at night, investigators can use supported visual information to help identify relevant people or vehicles without relying exclusively on black-and-white imagery.
Scene Search and Attribute-Based Investigation
Depending on the active licence and supported configuration, VORTEX investigation tools may include attribute search, scene search, re-search, profile search, licence plate recognition search, Think Search and event insight.
Case Management
Compatible VORTEX workflows may also support organising footage and exporting evidence for investigation and reporting.
*Search tools, AI functions and case management capabilities depend on camera compatibility, platform configuration and licensing.
