The Challenge
Park Primary School, originally built in 1935, was operating with significantly outdated infrastructure. The bell system was believed to be the original one installed when the school opened—offering just a single tone and limited functionality. The internal tannoy system was unreliable, working only intermittently, and staff were unsure how to operate it effectively.
Critically, there was no consistent or reliable method for school-wide communication in the event of an emergency. Without the ability to send clear messages across different parts of the building—or control access to doors and zones—staff faced real limitations in responding quickly and confidently to potential threats.
With new safeguarding legislation like Martyn’s Law on the horizon and the safety of pupils and staff a top priority, the leadership team recognised that their existing systems were no longer fit for purpose. It was time for a modern, integrated solution that could meet both current needs and future compliance demands.
