13 Portable Lighting Towers Help Light Up Doncaster’s Airports 10K Run

3^rd November 2026

We supplied 13 high-performance portable lighting towers to help illuminate the runway at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, improving visibility and supporting safer conditions for around 2,500 participants taking part in the Halloween-themed Run A Way 10K.

Improving Visibility in Dark and Foggy Conditions

Doncaster’s runway was transformed into a unique running track at the weekend as around 2,500 people took part in the Halloween Run A Way 10K, organised by Libra Races.

Taking place at dusk and continuing into the night, runners faced dark and foggy conditions, making effective lighting particularly important throughout the event.

Designed to deliver powerful illumination in demanding environments, the 900LED Lighting Tower produces an impressive 240,000 lumens through four high-performance LED lamps. Mounted on an extendable hydraulic mast reaching up to eight metres, each unit provides lighting coverage of up to 60 metres, helping improve visibility across large outdoor areas.

Powerful Lighting for Large-Scale Events

With quick deployment, a durable towable design and adjustable stabilisers, the portable towers are well suited to temporary installations and events where reliable lighting is essential. Their ability to deliver high-output illumination makes them an effective solution for night-time operations and challenging low-light conditions.

The event formed part of a busy weekend at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which welcomed thousands of visitors for a series of special occasions. Alongside the Run A Way 10K, visitors also gathered to witness a record-breaking engine run from the airport’s resident Avro Vulcan XH558 aircraft.

It was fantastic to play a part in an event that brought together runners, families, fundraisers and spectators for an evening of Halloween entertainment.

Our 900LED Portable Lighting Tower offers high-output illumination, flexibility and rapid deployment, making it an ideal solution for events, construction, rail, security and other applications where visibility is essential.
