IT Field Engineer

The Ninehundred Communications Group is a successful communications company based in Doncaster that has been trading for over 44 years and is seeking an IT Field Engineer.

As an IT Field Engineer with us, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working to ensure the seamless operation of our cutting-edge communication systems. 

The role involves providing IT support, both remotely and on-site, for desktop, server, and network-based issues ranging from 1st to 3rd line difficulty. As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the existing IT infrastructure, implementing new technologies, and working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to ensure best practices are followed.

The Role:

• Comprehensive IT support, both remotely and on-premises, encompassing a spectrum of difficulty from 1st to 3rd line desktop, server, and network-based issues.
• Collaborate closely with clients and colleagues to understand needs and requirements, ensuring solutions meet expectations.
• Oversight of the maintenance of existing infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement new technologies in alignment with industry best practices to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
• Document all activities, configurations, and resolutions accurately for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Continuously assess and improve IT processes and procedures to streamline operations and enhance user experience.

The Candidate:

• Solid background in IT support with experience in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support
• Ability to work in school environments, with a clear DBS check
• Proficient in problem-solving, offering effective and practical solutions
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused mentality
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2022 and Hyper-V for domain management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016-2021
• Experience in enterprise networking, including Wireless & VOIP, for configuration, security, and maintenance
• Knowledgeable in web & email filtering, security solutions, and printer management
• Competent in user and application management, device imaging, and deployment
• Familiarity with Office 365, Google Workspace etc

The Package:

• Permanent, full-time position – 8.30 – 5pm Monday to Friday
• Salary DOE 
• 20 days’ holiday + stats rising to 25 days (pro rata)
