We became GB Communications (North) Ltd

In a significant milestone for our evolving two way radio enterprise, the year 1983 marked a pivotal moment as we transformed into a limited company under the name of GB Communications, we continued to build upon the foundation laid in previous years, further establishing our reputation for innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

This new identity resonated with the essence of our business—bridging distances, connecting people, and facilitating seamless communication across various sectors.

Vodafone Accredited Dealer

Mobile phones were born, and we soon became one of the leading lights in the Yorkshire region, initially connecting through Marconi on the Cellnet Network but then partnered with Vodac (now Vodafone) where the majority of our connections are still placed today.

This milestone marked a significant leap forward in our journey, enabling us to combine our expertise and resources with Motek's innovative offerings, thus reinforcing our position as a leading force in providing cutting-edge communication solutions to our valued clientele.

Acquired Motek Portable Products Ltd

In a strategic move that exemplified our commitment to expanding our presence and capabilities within the communication industry, we proudly announced the acquisition of 'Motek Portable Products Ltd' in the year 2003.

This milestone marked a significant leap forward in our journey, enabling us to combine our expertise and resources with Motek's innovative offerings, thus reinforcing our position as a leading force in providing cutting-edge communication solutions to our valued clientele.

Motek were primarily a Two Way Radio rental company and combined with our already large fleet of rental radios this ensured that we had one of the largest fleets in the UK.

We Rebranded to Ninehundred Communications Ltd

After the acquisition, we decided to come up with a new brand name that would represent both companies. We settled on Ninehundred Communications Ltd, which is named after the frequency 900Mhz that some GSM mobiles used to operate on during that time.

The new brand enabled us to market the two companies as one, rather than two and push into markets that we were unable to reach out to before.

Major Extension Completed

In 2006, we achieved a significant milestone with the completion of a major extension to our facilities. This expansion represented a strategic investment in our future, providing us with enhanced capabilities to innovate, develop, and deliver cutting-edge communication solutions to our valued clients.

The extended facilities served as a testament to our commitment to growth, enabling us to accommodate our increasing demands, house advanced research and development efforts, and further strengthen our position as a leading player in the communication technology industry.

Our Name Changed to Ninehundred Communications Group Ltd

In a transformative move that mirrors our dynamic evolution and expanding portfolio, we proudly renamed it as 'Ninehundred Communications Group Ltd.'

This strategic shift reflects our commitment to innovation and diversification, as we now offer a comprehensive suite of solutions beyond two-way radios. With the inclusion of cutting-edge offerings such as CCTV, lighting solutions, and a host of other innovative technologies.

Celebrating 40 Years of Trading

In the year of 2019, we celebrated yet another significant milestone – 40 years of unwavering dedication and excellence in the communication technology industry.

This momentous occasion served as a tribute to our enduring commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and industry leadership. To celebrate, we hosted a 40th Birthday ‘party’ allowing us to celebrate not only the company, but our dedicated employees that make our company great.

Site Solutions Division Building is acquired!

We are in a phase of rapid growth, not only in the range of products we offer but also in our workforce. A new expansion has led us to occupy a second premises, a 5,900 sq.ft modern industrial unit only 3 minutes away from Head Office
